God hates... everything, apparently...

Hello followers,

My attention has recently been drawn to an American Organisation called The Westboro Babtist Church. Now, I've been aware of them for a while, and despite being somewhat offended by their extremist stances on homosexuality and their ridiculous opinions of what is 'God's Will,' I kinda let it pass, after all, they have a right to their own opinion... no matter how offensive it may be to anyone who hears it.

BUT... and this is quite a big 'but,' I find myself unable to ignore their latest plans. You have probably heard of the shooting incident in Arizona yesterday in which a gunman shot a congresswoman in the head, and wounded several, and killed an additional two, including a district judge and a NINE YEAR-OLD GIRL.

Now, the WBC have done some crazy, stupid stuff, like protesting at the funeral of a dead soldier, and claiming that the Black Saturday bush fires that caused so much destruction and death were the result of 'God's Will' in retaliation of Australia's open stance on gays, but their latest escapade is, IMO: unacceptable.

Poor little Christina is going to have her FUNERAL gatecrashed by the WBC, where they will proceed to protest their bizarre claims that the shooter was doing God's will, and Christina's death is by some fault of her own.

Now, I'm all for free speech, but I think this abuses the right. The U.S Supreme Court did actually rule that freedom of speech is not synonymous with 'freedom to harrass' after Jehovah's witnesses were driving around, preaching through megaphones.

For more info on the WBC, visit their ridiculous site, www.godhatesfags.com  I warn you though, their writings ACTUALLY made me throw up. Keep in mind though, the Phelps family has been shunned by all other christian denominations for their bordering-on-terrorist actions. Don't judge the religion by them. Do what I do... find solace in the fact that their names are on a list of people not allowed to enter the UK... along with terrorists and high level criminals... says something about them really.

So please, leave a comment and tell me what you think about this. And feel free to swear, it took all my self control to avoid it myself. (I'm not sure whether blogspot lets me swear in my posts or not.)

Thanks for following.
